RétroGaming 2.0 Vous présente "Hi-Octane The Track Fights Back!"Donc hi-Octane est un jeu vidéo de course/combat de véhicules sorti en 1995 pour PC, PlayStation et Sega Saturn, développé par Bullfrog. Le jeu propose un choix de six aéroglisseurs différenciés par leur vitesse de pointe, leur blindage, leur puissance de feu, leur poids et leur apparence : KD-1 Speeder, Berserker, Jugga, Vampire, Outrider et Flexiwing. Il y a six pistes sur lesquelles courir, avec des noms comme New Chernobyl qui font allusion à un monde futuriste dystopique (bien que le jeu ne comporte pas de trame de fond). Les pistes offrent différentes difficultés, diverses textures et types de paysage comme les friches et les rues de la ville. Certaines parties de la piste permettent de recharger le carburant, les boucliers ou les munitions du véhicule, bien que le véhicule doive ralentir pour profiter pleinement de la recharge. Il y a aussi des power-ups sur les pistes, rechargeant carburant/bouclier/munitions (10, 100 ou 200%) ou améliorant le minigun, missile ou booster de la voiture, pour plus de puissance. D'autres parties des pistes ont changé au cours de la course, ouvrant des raccourcis ou des lieux avec des améliorations dispersées pendant une courte période.

RétroGaming 2.0 Presents you "Hi-Octane The Track Fights Back!"So Hi-Octane is a racing/vehicular combat video game released in 1995 for the PC, PlayStation and Sega Saturn, developed by Bullfrog. The game offers a choice of six hovercraft vehicles differentiated by their top speed, armour, firepower, weight and appearance: KD-1 Speeder, Berserker, Jugga, Vampire, Outrider, and Flexiwing. There are six tracks to race on, with names like New Chernobyl which hint at a dystopian futuristic world (although the game does not feature a backstory). The tracks offer different difficulties, various textures and types of landscape like wastelands and city streets. Certain parts of the track allow to recharge vehicle's fuel, shields or ammo, although the vehicle has to slow down in order to fully benefit of the recharge. There are also power-ups on the tracks, recharging fuel/shield/ammo (10, 100 or 200%) or upgrading the car's minigun, missile or booster, for more power. Other parts of the tracks changed in the course of racing, opening shortcuts or places with scattered upgrades for a short time.
