Hideous Destructor | Istanbul | No Failure Runs | Part 1
9There's not a lot of middle eastern themed Doom map, it seems. Found only about two, one is a bunch blocks with stock Doom textures, the other this. Decided to run this with the good ol' HDest loadout. Short mappack too, only about 4 maps.
Also decided to run this with a texture pack, not one of those super HD texture ones, no. This one's based off of Hexen 2's textures. Makes things quite ancient looking, really nice. Mixed in my TR2 addons as well from my The Wreck run to make the doors and stuff do non-scifi sounds (with a slight addition of enemies making not-so-demonic sounds).
Would be kinda weird to use D64 weapons while not having D64 enemies, fixed that right up. Found some wads in my old folders with D64 sprites fitted to ol' D2 sizes, added in some changes of my own too to fit HDest's arsenal better. Absolutely terrible, lots of wrongsizes and miscolored sprites, but it sorta works.
Like always, UV/Hideous run. Decided to be daring today and picked a different sort of loadout, good thing the map's pretty generous with supplies.
