The story of Games by Apollo is an odd one. The owner of the company, Pat Roper, tried to be Activision and spent most of the companies money trying to keep up with the them. He didn't have any idea what he was doing and quickly drove the company into the ground.
The Video Game Crash in 83 finished them off, but the writing was on the wall for them in 82 when most of their programmers left.
