This is one of those games that feels like a clone of a Namco games. I actually made the mistake of thinking this was a Namco game at first. It has a lot of similarities to Dig Dug.
There were even a few sequels to Mr. Do! It felt like this was an arcade franchise that could have made the jump to consoles and been something of a longer running franchise. However, clowns are creepy so I can see why it just stayed didn't do much.
