After creating your character and pressing “Start Your Journey”, a cutscene begins where your player character is speaking with Professor Fig as you prepare to depart for Hogwarts. A newly Apparated George Osric from the Ministry of Magic arrives in the nick of time, and joins you on the carriage ride.Whilst in flight, George reveals a newspaper discussing the Goblin Rebellion led by Ranrok, and George reveals that Professor Fig’s wife, Miriam, warned him about how dangerous Ranrok truly is before she passed away, whilst also sending him a strange container.Your player character notices a glow on the object the others don’t, and upon touching it, it opens to reveal a portkey. Before anyone can truly react, a dragon appears and rips the carriage in two, killing George. To avoid being burnt by the dragon's fire, you and Professor Fig jump from the carriage and plummet down, grabbing the key and apparating away before the dragon can catch you.Landing in a cave, a tutorial begins introducing you to basic movement and navigation functions, as well as the healing mechanic of the Wiggenweld Potion. As you and Professor Fig exit the cave, you realize you are on the coastline somewhere in the Scottish Highlands, with a set of ruins in the distance.Navigate around the cliffside, following Professor Fig as he provides context to the myth of ancient magic being wielded by a powerful few. Climb the small ridges as you get to them, before you arrive at a wall of enchanted stone. Fig will instruct you to use your Basic Cast a number of times to shatter the wall. Cast it 3 times to break the wall, allowing you to progress Slide down the ramp ahead and continue to follow Fig. As you vault up and double back on yourself, you can find the first small chest to loot tucked around the corner to the left (instead of following Fig to the right), which will contain a small amount of Gold.Follow Fig to the dead end and he will cast Reparo to rebuild the crossing, allowing you to reach the ruins.Once inside the ruins, investigate the mural ahead of you, and then look left to see a statue. After investigating that, look to the right and loop around the outside of the building to arrive at another section of enchanted stone.Approach it to see a room on the other side of the wall, which Fig cannot see. After a short conversation, interact with the symbol on the wall to teleport both yourself and Fig to the room you could see through the stone. Now teleported to this spacious room (which is revealed to be a private section of Gringotts), approach the desk directly ahead of you to interact and awaken the goblin. He will be surprised to see you, asking for vault number 12, and the key to it - Miriam's portkey. You climb aboard the mine cart and descend deep into Gringotts, with vault 12 being one of the oldest vaults in existence. After passing a dubious-looking Goblin Guard, you finally arrive at vault 12
Head straight forward for a short cutscene of the vault door being unlocked. Before passing through, you can loot a small chest on the right-hand side. Once inside the vault, the Goblin will seal it behind you. To find a way forward, Fig teaches you Revelio. In this mini-game, simply guide the cursor along the tracklines laid out (in the shape of an R), hitting the button prompts as you arrive at them. Keep moving to evade the red shade following your blue magic all the way to the end, and you can then cast Revelio. Get a little closer to the opposite end of the corridor and cast Revelio again to reveal a hidden door.Investigate the hidden door to teleport once again, this time to a cavernous dark room. Stay close to Fig as he casts Lumos, and you’ll arrive at another glowing symbol, this time on the floor. As you interact with the symbol on the floor, the ground will change to the enchanted stone-texture, with a reflection of a statue on the underside. Cast Revelio near the reflection to make the real statue appear. With the reflection following the light of Lumos, Fig decides you should learn it to complete this puzzle. Repeat the Revelio mini-game, this time in the shape of an inverted V, and you can then cast Lumos.Cast Lumos and then guide the reflection of the statue to line up with the real one, causing it to stand up and summon multiple other statues. As the statue swings at you, hit the prompt to cast Protego. You’ll then need to cast Protego to deflect 3 incoming enemy attacks, signified by an orange halo around your head. After doing so, use your Basic Cast to destroy the rest of the statues, before Fig disappears and you are plunged into darkness. Cast Lumos and follow the wisps of light to another symbol on the ground. After activating the ground symbol, cast Revelio to reveal a further 3 statues and their reflections. Use Lumos and find the sweet spot on the ground which causes all 3 statues to align with their reflections at the same time.
