Earning the Steam game-client achievement 'Nature of the Beast' by breeding all the creatures in the game...
The Unicorn is the trickiest of the lot, there are more females than males.
Sometimes, fast-forwarding the day-night cycle using the map feature does not spawn any Unicorns (see vid).
Go to a nearby Floo Flame or two and then return to the exclusive Unicorn Den on the map.
This triggers a rng spawn of the Unicorn and gets you a male one (creature fact: it has a bigger horn) much sooner than otherwise (see vid for the capture).

Note: I'm not sure if this next idea is valid, but keeping the female Unicorns you caught in your inventory, and not selling them or releasing them in your Room of Requirement, may help clue the game rng to provide you a male Unicorn. Just a wild guess, really. Coz where other players discovered the male Unicorn after catching almost ten or so female ones, I got mine on the 5th try.
