Hogwarts Legacy - Reflections FIXED | Ray Tracing On/Off Comparison | RTX 4090
THIS VIDEO IS OUTDATED- WATCH THE NEW ONE HERE- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOY3-8Bw8Jk
If you saw my last comparison you'll see a lot of people saying it's too shiny and everything looks wet. That was from a config file tweak that make everything overly reflective. In this video I've toned it down that so the game has a more subtle set of reflections. No more stone floors that look covered in water! Do you think it looks better or do you like the more shiny reflections? Or maybe even prefer ray tracing off?
Stick around a while, subscribe if you enjoyed!
Hogwarts Legacy has an interesting approach to ray tracing. Without some kind of config file tweak, it doesn't look so great. You can see examples here for vanilla ray tracing : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zzh6-Stz19k
You can also tweak it to make everything look VERY reflective like you can see here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEeKDYva2kc&t
I think the settings I'm using in this video looks the best. If you want to try it, just paste these settings at the end of your Engine.ini located - "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor"
[SystemSettings]
r.RayTracing.Reflections.ScreenPercentage=100
r.RayTracing.Reflections.SamplesPerPixel=1
r.RayTracing.Reflections.MaxRoughness=0.3
r.RayTracing.AmbientOcclusion.Intensity=1
