82Goal: Once conquered China you have a free conquest to go North, South , East or West. Japan will not out produce the Allies in Ships or Planes. But, Japan has the best troops and planes in the game. The Navy has the potential to destroy any and all ships that venture out to Japanese terrority.
Strengths: Great National Spirits for Planes, Infantry and Ships. After the war with China, you should have an experienced Army and Air Force. Japan can get the Zero “Carrier Fighter II” pretty early.
Weakness: Lacks oil and other resources. Weak Industry.
Army: I personally use 40 width infantry(14, 4). The beauty of this game is that you can use different types of templates and they all can work. If I had to make a recommendation, make at least 20 width infantry against China. 7 Infantry and 2 Artillery. Using 20 Widths you can have double the troops vs 40 widths. You need artillery to fight china.
Air Force: CAS, CAS, Naval Bombers and even more Kamikazes! Using CAS against your enemy will slaughter them. For your fighters, improve the range…. The Pacific air zones are massive.
Navy: It has a lot of older ships but I would focus on building Carriers, Destroyers and Light Cruisers. Battleships and SH Battleships are nice to have but Carriers and good screens will do the job just fine. Also, Isoroku Yamamoto should be your surface fleet Admiral. He’s a God amongst men. Improve his carrier trait to “fighter Director”. This will improve his fighters even more.
