Hollywood Squares (NES): Part 1
With That Trivia Game coming to an end, we move on to the NES version of Hollywood Squares to fill the 7pm time slot. This is one of the more challenging trivia games as you are given answers and choose whether or not they are correct instead of choosing an answer yourself. There are many times where I originally think of the right answer but then change my mind when presented with another answer. This is known as the Dunning-Krueger effect.
You choose a "celebrity" from a block of 9 squares, trying to make a line in the classic tic-tac-toe game style. Getting the answer right will give you the square, getting it wrong gives it to the opponent. The first person to make a line takes the round.
Every answer is preempted by a "joke" answer which is usually a dad joke by today's standards or something offensive by today's standards, so be wary of jokes involving gender roles and ethnic stereotypes.
Hope you enjoy the series. I intended to play until I got repeat questions, but then the game crashed pretty hard. It's likely there are questions I won't see in the series, but if I start a new game, I'll probably get more repeats.
