I'm going to talk about Ruan Mei for the first part of this description and then talk about this Memory of Chaos (MoC) cycle.
I knew I wanted to warp for Ruan Mei since her appearance in the Simulated Universe. I thought she would be a cool character, and while a lot of people online say that she is crazy, I didn't feel the same way (yet) after playing the mission with her. I am incredibly disappointed in her outfit design, but at this point I'm just used to it. In terms of her play style, I thought she was going to be very fun. As it turns out, she's not what I expected.
I never understood the Break Effect (BE) mechanic. I thought the higher BE, the easier it is to break the enemy's Toughness (AKA the shield). But I'm wrong, because that mechanic is different, and it is called Weakness Break Efficiency. What Break Effect does is that when you break an enemy's Toughness, you get extra damage the higher BE you have. So BE is basically useless, since the damage isn't that high and you can't always reliably break with a certain character. Because Ruan Mei scales off BE, you want to raise a useless stat on your relics, which is annoying. Granted, Ruan Mei doesn't need attack or crit, so you can just focus on substats like speed and BE.
Here I thought Ruan Mei would allow me to just break enemies super easy. While she does help breaking a bit, her main upsides are her buffs. It's quite difficult for me to see her impact in combat, but I do seem to do a. ton more damage, especially after I rolled her Light Cone (LC). There isn't really much else to say other than she is quite good. I never upgraded Pela, so I don't know how much of an upgrade Ruan Mei is. As an offensive support character, I can definitely see Ruan Mei staying relevant. Because my account doesn't have any strong defensive support characters, it's not easy to use Ruan Mei if I want survivability. But I think she will get better on my account as time goes on.

This MoC cycle introduces stages 11 and 12. And these stages were not easy. I'm not going to talk a lot about stage 11 because it wasn't that hard for me (I didn't have Ruan Mei's LC and I still clear in good time). Stage 12, on the other hand, was very difficult for me because I don't have a good Kafka counter. While I could have waited for the free Dr. Ratio, I wanted to get this video out so that people can how a noob like me uses Ruan Mei. By the time Dr. Ratio comes out, Ruan Mei is gone, so then this video loses value.
My best friend for clearing this MoC was taking advantage of the Memory Turbulence buff (I can't call it the fortnight buff anymore since MoC is six weeks). My main priority in the first half of stage 12 was breaking as much shields as possible and attacking the broken enemies. I used my Kafka team because it can deal extra chip damage and break the smaller enemies shield well. Then when Kafka comes out, I have to use Lynx's ultimate when Kafka takes control of my ally (if that ally is Lynx, reset). This fight took me many retries (took longer to write this TBH), but the main thing is to get lucky by not dying and timing all my moves well. I even changed my Lynx's relic setup to give her more speed to act twice per turn.
For the second half, I only ever got there three times, but I knew I could do it if I got there at turn 23. Again, sequencing was super important, but at the end of the day, Jingliu hypercarry sweeps. Ruan Mei did help out a lot during this fight, since she provided extra shield breaking and damage.
I'm not a big fan of these new stages, because harder content = need better setups = need to warp for better characters and Light Cones. I've literally never once wanted harder content in gacha games, because it may change how you roll if you care about completing content.
All in all, Jingliu is a beast and I'm happy AmaLee voiced her because I would have hard skipped otherwise.
