Okay, friends... I did the thing finally. To set the stage: I've been curious about HSR ever since I first heard about it. It seemed like exactly the kind of thing I'd fall in love with: immersive world, great characters, great music, great VAs, unique setting, plus the kind of intensive polish I used to love in Genshin Impact. (I never played Genshin on stream, to clarify; by the time you all met the Catboy of Chaos, I'd burned out on events and trying to catch up with the story and moved on to other things.) Between that burnout, and the 20 other things I'm doing/playing, I was terrified of falling in love...

But then YOU ALL made it sound so dang fun that I capitulated and gave it a try. =) And all I'm saying is WOW I was not wrong to be terrified. I gave myself several hours to stream the first part before my usual Friday night stream, and I honestly could have kept going for the rest of the night if I didn't have a hard stopping point. I'll let you hear my general thoughts in the VOD, but suffice to say that I very much love this so far and I can't wait to see more... once my voice recovers from being sick. ^^;

I've also learned that HSR is much more a) single player focused and b) turn-based strategic combat focused than Genshin, both of which are huge selling points for me right now. I think it'll be a nice balance to all the other complex and reflex-heavy games on my schedule and help give me a chance to relax and chat more with all of my lovely viewers. I'll likely have to slot it in during different/earlier times since my usual schedule is pretty booked, but I've been thinking about doing longer hours again anyway so this seems like a good way to test that out going forward.

Oh, and for the curious and afraid: don't worry about my wallet. I played Genshin for several months prior to spending any money on it, and when I finally did, it was because I felt I'd gotten enough enjoyment out of the game that it had earned what I spent. Genshin was kind with free pulls as a new player, and I've heard that's similar for HSR, so the goal is to not spend money until/unless I decide it's earned.
