0Rost is at a point where he feels that Aloy is mature enough to begin learning how to survive in the wild. He teaches her how to gather salvebrush berries for medicinal purposes, how to use stealth to hide in tall grass, and how to hunt the aggressive machines.
As Rost is teaching Aloy her life lessons, they notice a teenage boy who is climbing the rocks nearby. He stops and smiles at them. Rost advises Aloy to ignore him because it is against the law for them to talk to him as they are social outcasts.
Being mischievous, the boy falls from the rocks and gets himself into trouble with an entire herd of Striders (aggressive machines). Against Rost’s command, Aloy uses her stealth and the Focus device to make her way to the boy and help him to safety.
The boy, whose name is Teb is so overcome by Aloy’s kindness and he heaps praise and blessings upon her. The elders of the tribe arrive on the scene to collect Teb and scold him for communicating with outcasts.
The tribe elder angrily reprimands Teb and hastily drags him away from Aloy and Rost. Teb sorrowfully looks back on Aloy knowing he will never forget her bravery and kindness.
