Hotfix 1.9 - The Most Anticipated Calibration Yet!
160This update delivers a more balanced, neutral, and natural tone to the panel similar to the clean and refined look achieved in Hotfix 1.6
That same level of clarity is now back.
Hotfix 1.9 enhances the panel in several key areas:
• Natural Colours
While this may sound concerning to some, the colours retain the same depth and almost the same reach as in 1.8. However, they can now appear desaturated when required by the game, or vibrant when appropriate. If you prefer richer colours than those presented in this calibration guide, you can always create a custom game preset.
• Panel Tint
The commonly known LG OLED green tint has been eliminated, and the PS5 blue near-black issue caused by HDMI signal issues has been completely resolved in HDR mode. For best results, it is recommended to set HDR to “Always On.” Unfortunately, this issue could not be fixed in SDR, which will therefore continue to appear slightly better in HDR. This fix significantly improves contrast and clarity, drawing action and colour into your space more vividly than before creating a depth that other calibration guides often fail to achieve.
• True-to-Life Tonality
Cold, dry wood tones now appear with a firm, pleasing, and almost eerie quality, while warm colours evoke a comforting sense of safety and ease. These tonal improvements are just one of many that enhance both gaming and movie-watching experiences in SDR and HDR.
• Major Improvements to Input Lag
Input lag (or response time) the speed at which button presses and analog stick movements translate on screen has been greatly improved. The result feels so responsive it can almost give the impression of playing with 5fps higher than before!
• Highlights and Specularity
Highlights now sparkle with such intensity that they may at times command your attention. Exercise caution this is HDR at dangerously awesome levels.
