There is one thing that ALL Major league baseball players have in common. They start out in the minor leagues. The minor leagues is where the player gets game experience with lower quality players than the MLB has to offer. Most players are here for their whole career. Only a some ever get that call to the Majors, and only a handful get that call before the age of 21. What makes a player finally get called up?

There are a few reasons a player is called up. One being they are needed position wise. The team might have an injury and need them to come up to fill in that spot. Some are playing so well they get called up because the organization believes they are ready for the Majors. We will take a look at how some of our youngest guys are fairing down in the minors and see how soon they might be called on.


The Kansas City Royals did it in 2015. 2014 we were 90 feet away from a potential championship.

Our team? Mostly farm system players who grew up and played together since the minors. The rebuild took some years, but ended up perfect for a World Series.

Can we do the same thing with the Royals? Wait and see.
