How Fast Does a 21HP Jet Powered Snowboard Go?
Finally got to a real ski hill to test out the EDF POWERED SNOWBOARD! Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE for more AWESOME Videos ► http://goo.gl/MU4hNA -- and learn how we made it below:
Building steps:
1. We got 120mm EDFs https://goo.gl/35guxU, Batteries https://goo.gl/aeSDei, ESCs https://goo.gl/H1P92m, and a Remote Control from Hobby King.
2. We designed and printed an EDF mount on our Lulz bot 3d printer. We used ABS+ from http://filaments.ca?rfsn=362416.42f3f at 20% infill. Everything was printed on our LulzBot Taz 6 3d printer available on amazon here http://amzn.to/2fvfPyH
3. Strainers from the dollar store were used as intake guards in front of the EDFs.
4. We cut, bent and welded together a steel frame to house the EDFs in and attach to the snowboard.
5. 8 lipo batteries (6s 6400mah) were mounted in the steel frame and wired to the ESCs.
6. The ESCs were run in parallel from the receiver.
7. The system was not working well so we waxed the board and then it worked great!
