In this video we are playing and analyzing the cruelest video game. There is a unique cosmic horror in Fear and Hunger that sets it apart from other RPG Maker horror games and is intriguing to explore. RPG Maker horror games were most popular in the early 2010's, but their popularity has died has the genre has stagnated. Fear and Hunger is an entirely new approach to the genre however, and has been leading the charge in a renewed interest in RPG Maker horror games as genuinely good and unique video games.
Fear and Hunger is unlike The Coffin of Andy and LeyLey, another recently successful RPG Maker horror game, which I'd argue only gained popularity for its story. Fear and Hunger gained popularity due to that AND its mechanics, which is generally unheard of for RPG Maker games.
