Automotive, IoT and smart city are common terms everywhere, but what does it look like in a real city with pedestrians, cyclists, vehicles and traffic lights? How do you get the dynamic and diverse information into a digital world? We use a series of practical examples to show how we have extracted highly dynamic data in the city of Jena and added it to an open system (Sensinact). - Traffic light controlling - Public transport - tram, bus - Traffic surveillance - pedestrians, cyclists, vehicles These different data sources are combined into a collision detection system that generates events that can be transmitted to the participating vehicles. In this presentation, we will give you an in-depth insight into the technical aspects of the individual components, the software development processes and possible deployment scenarios to keep the systems up to date. We provide an overview of the architecture of the hardware and software components.
