To set up a guest account on your Xbox Series X for split-screen gaming, follow these steps:

Sign in to your console.
Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Navigate to Profile & system - Add or switch.

Select Add guest. The guest account will appear as Host Name.
If you have multiple guests who want to play, select Add guest again to create additional guest accounts.

Remember that guest accounts are temporary and do not save data. When the host signs out of their Xbox profile, the guest account is also signed out and removed from the console.
