0Adding a photo to your resume in Canva is a straightforward process, especially when using a resume template that already includes a placeholder for images. This is useful if you're applying for jobs that favor personal branding or visual presentation, such as roles in design, marketing, or client-facing positions. To begin, open your browser and go to canva.com. Log in to your account and either create a new resume from scratch or choose a pre-designed template that fits your style.
If the template already has a sample photo, click on it and delete it. You’ll likely see a circular or rectangular image frame remaining—this is where your photo will be inserted. Now go to the left-hand panel and click on “Uploads.” Then click “Upload files” and select the photo of yourself from your computer. Once uploaded, the photo will appear in your uploads library.
Click and drag your uploaded photo into the placeholder frame on the resume. Canva will automatically snap the image into the frame. You can double-click on the image to adjust its position or zoom, ensuring your face is centered and fits neatly. Use the corner handles to resize the image if necessary.
