I'm assuming someone else might play this game in the future and face the same problem that I did: the game had some serious framerate problems in the last area and it always ended up freezing/crashing in the last boss (second fight). And I don't know if there are any other videos demonstrating a way to circumvent the issue.

I tried two different PSP systems and the problem persisted. After having the game freeze like 5-6 times I made some observations that it always crashed during long animations and usually towards the end of the fight.

Here's raw video footage of how I solved the freezing. I included the first fight, but feel free to skip that one, because it's probably not related to the problem. Anyway, I basically tried to use as few new animations as possible and nothing too flashy. I also avoided using the attack/defense assists much because it crashed on me once or twice during those animations.

When I had softened the boss a little bit, I ended up spamming Vayne's infinite attack loop but tried to take care to not select new actions too quickly to avoid overloading anything that might result in a crash. It might be possible (for a very safe tactic) to do the whole fight just spamming Vayne's regular attack and Over Realm, especially if you have very good attack gear or a lot of mana potions. I feared I would run out of Tranquilizers if I tried that, so I gambled a bit with his big damage animation (Chaos Devotion) in the loop. Hoping someone finds this helpful!

Audio capture from the PSP was messed up so the video is unfortunately muted (it would have killed your ears). I cut out the dialogue stuff but otherwise unedited video. I highly recommend watching in faster than 1x playback speed!

My both PSP-3004s are updated to 6.61 system version, no idea if that is related to the issue. The game is original UMD (imported US version iirc).
