It's best not to think too hard about the technology that went into creating this robot turtle / octopus / venus flytrap hybrid, and instead focus on his ever-changing elemental resistances. Go big! Thundaga, Aeroga, Firaga, and Blizzaga all have places here, as does Heavy Slash. Recommendation: if you have the Vengeance outfit, use it. The built-in Beatdown attack will bolster your physical damage. When the battle first begins, hammer him with Heavy Slashes and Beatdown. After the first stagger, keep going at it until you reach a second stagger. (Use Overclock if you have to.) Beat Down will morph into a Launch prompt, at which point you should launch Aster Protoflorian into the air and switch to a schema with Heavy Slash, which will have transformed into Smite. Smite that sucker down, and block his attacks when necessary. (That Spin Jump can be nasty, but a split-second Heavy Guard can ease the pain.)
