I was randomly exploring the Roundtable Hold area as i ran into this opponent while having over 9000 souls on me, i was only level 17 and was forced to fight or abandon them, and fought him I did.

Took me like five deaths to create an effective strategy against this opponent and it worked to perfection without me losing any HP so I will share it with you all in case some of you is having trouble against him. Basically you want to keep yourself in mid distance and pick your shots. Make sure to stagger him with heavy attacks as he approaches, also it helps to stay away from the ice zone he creates, just drag him away from that area and fight elsewhere.
