How to Block Messages & Phone Calls on Android Phone Settings (Best Method)
1To block messages and phone calls on an Android phone using the built-in settings, the steps vary slightly depending on the phone’s manufacturer and Android version. Below are the general instructions for most Android devices, including Google and Samsung phones:
Blocking Phone Calls
Open the Phone App:
Locate and tap the Phone app (telephone icon) on your home screen or app drawer.
Access Blocked Numbers:
Tap the three-dot menu (or three lines) in the upper-right corner.
Select Settings - Blocked Numbers (on Samsung, it may be Block Numbers).
Add a Number to Block:
Tap Add a Number or the + icon.
Enter the phone number you want to block, or select a contact from your contact list (if the option is available).
Confirm to add the number to the block list.
Block Unknown Callers (Optional):
In the Blocked Numbers settings, toggle on Block Unknown Numbers or Block Calls from Unidentified Callers to block calls from private or unknown numbers.
Manage Blocked Calls:
In the same Blocked Numbers menu, you’ll see the list of blocked numbers. Tap the X or Remove next to a number to unblock it.
