How to Unlock Android Phone if you Forgot Password, PIN or Biometrics (Reset Options)
A factory reset will erase all data on the phone and remove the lock screen. Use this only if you’re okay with losing all data (unless backed up).
Enter Recovery Mode:
Power off your phone. If you can’t, remove and reinsert the battery (if removable) or let the battery drain.
Boot into Recovery Mode:
For most Android devices: Press and hold Power + Volume Down (or Volume Up on some devices) until the Recovery Mode menu appears.
For Samsung: Press Power + Volume Up + Bixby (or Home on older models).
Navigate to Factory Reset:
Use the volume buttons to navigate to Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
Press the Power button to select it.
Confirm Reset:
Select Yes or Confirm and wait for the reset to complete.
Reboot the Device:
Select Reboot System Now. The phone will restart without a lock screen.
Set Up the Phone:
Follow the setup wizard to configure your phone. You may need to sign in with your Google or Samsung account.
Restore data from a backup (e.g., Google Drive or Samsung Cloud) if available.
Warning: A factory reset erases all data, including apps, photos, and settings. If your phone has Factory Reset Protection (FRP), you’ll need the Google or Samsung account credentials previously used on the device to set it up again.
