Video Transcript:
Hi. I'm Max Dalton, and in this video I'm going to talk through how to block or unblock other users on Xbox Live.

Hiding behind the veil of anonymity that an Xbox Live account can provide, some people can be absolutely insufferable. If you run into someone you'd prefer to avoid altogether on Xbox Live going forward, you can block that specific user. Blocking someone on Xbox Live means you won't receive game invites, party invites, and messages from that person. Additionally, if you block someone who's on your friend list, that person will be removed from your friend list.

And now, how to block or unblock a general Xbox Live user.

Step 1. Highlight your Xbox Live profile icon and name that appears in the upper left corner of your home screen, and then press "A." A menu flys in from the left side of the home screen.

Step 2. Use the left analog stick to select the "People" icon in the row of icons along the top of the menu. The People icon is located to the immediate left of the Xbox logo, and features the silhouettes of two people.

Step 3. Select "Find Someone" in the list of choices in the People menu. A screen appears asking you to enter the username associated with the Xbox Live user you want to block.

Step 4. Enter the name of the user you want to block, and then press "Start." A menu for that user appears.

Step 5. Select "Report or Block" in the list of menu options.

Step 6. Click "Block" in the list of menu options to block this user. Alternatively, if you've previously blocked this user, you'll see Unblock in this menu rather than Block. Click "Unblock" if you ever want to unblock this user.
