How to Change Facebook Email Address

Your Facebook primary email address serves as a username you can use to log in to Facebook, and also as the email account where any email notifications associated with Facebook will be sent. Changing your Facebook email address should be on your list of things to do if you feel like either that email account or your Facebook account are compromised. This video will show you how to change your email on Facebook through both the Facebook mobile app, and the Facebook.com website.
Change in Facebook Mobile App
Step 1. Launch the Facebook mobile app on your iPhone, iPad, Android, Microsoft, or Amazon smart device. You'll land on your Facebook home screen.
Step 2. Tap the "Menu" icon in the lower right corner of the screen, which features three horizontal lines.
Step 3. Scroll down to the bottom of the menu. Tap to expand "Settings & Privacy," and then select "Account Settings" in the list of options that appear in the drop-down menu.
Step 4. Tap "General" at the top of the Settings screen. A window appears displaying some of your basic Facebook account information, such as your account name, email, and phone number.
Step 5. Tap "Email." The Account Emails window appears.
Step 6. Tap the blue "Add Email Address" link in the Account Emails section. The Add Email screen appears.
Step 7. Enter the email address you want to add in the Add an Additional Email Address field, and then tap "Add Email." A message appears in a banner along the top of the screen, informing you that a confirmation email has been sent to your new contact email address.
Step 8. You'll receive two emails. The first is an email to the email account that's currently associated with your Facebook account informing you that a new email account has been added to your Facebook account. The second email will be to the email account associated with the email address you are adding to your Facebook account. Click the blue "Confirm" button in the body of this email message to confirm your email account.
Step 9. Re-open the Facebook app, and then navigate back to where you can view the email accounts associated with your Facebook account. You will now see two emails associated with your Facebook account.
Step 10. Tap "Primary Email" at the bottom of the Account Emails screen. The Choose Primary screen appears.
Step 11. Tap the email address you want to be the primary email address associated with your Facebook account to place a blue check mark to the right of that address. Tap "Save." A Saved New Email message appears in a banner along the top of the screen.
You've successfully changed your Facebook email address.
Change on Facebook Website
Step 1. Open your Web browser, navigate to Facebook.com, and then log in to your account if prompted. You'll land on your Facebook home screen.
Step 2. Click the drop-down arrow in the upper right corner of the screen. The drop-down arrow appears on the far right side of the blue bar at the top of the screen. A drop-down menu appears.
Step 3. Click "Settings" in the list of options. The General Account Settings screen appears.
Step 4. Click "Edit" on the right side of the Contact section. The Contact section expands.
Step 5. Click the blue "Add Another Email or Mobile Number" link that appears beneath Primary Contact at the top of the Contact section.
Step 6. Enter the email account that you to be your primary Facebook email address in the New Email field, and then click the blue "Add" button. A Please Re-enter Your Password dialog box appears. Re-enter the password associated with your account, and then click the blue "Submit" button. The Add Another Email dialog box appears, informing you that an email has been sent to the email account you just added to your Facebook account. Click the blue "Close" button in the dialog box.
Step 7. You'll receive two emails. The first is an email to the email account that's currently associated with your Facebook account informing you that a new email account has been added to your Facebook account. The second email will be to the email account associated with the email address you are adding to your Facebook account. Click the blue "Confirm" button in the body of this email message.
Step 8. Navigate back to the Contact part of the General Account Settings screen within your Facebook account. You'll now see two email addresses at the top of the Contact window.
Step 9. Click the radio button to the left of the email address you want to be the primary email address associated with your Facebook account, and then click the blue "Save Changes" button. The Contact section will be minimized, and you'll now see your new email address displayed as the primary email address associated with your Facebook account.
You've successfully changed your Facebook email address.
