How to Hide Photos or Videos on iPhone or iPad

How many times have you handed someone your iPhone or iPad to show them a picture and they instantly start flipping through the rest of your photos. If you don't rip your device out of their hands fast enough, there's the risk that they'll come across private photos or videos you were trying to keep a secret. One guard against this is to use default functionality built into the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad to hide private pictures and videos on your device and move them to a secret folder in the app. Any photos or videos you choose to hide using this method will also not be visible on your device's Camera Roll.
Now let's walk through the steps to hide pictures and videos on your iPhone or iPad.
Step 1. Tap to launch the "Photos" app on your iPhone or iPad. The Photos app opens by default to the Moments screen.
Step 2. Tap the blue "Select" button in the upper right corner of the screen. The window will now change to be named Select Items.
Step 3. Scroll through your photos, and tap any photos or videos you want to hide from anyone who may want to quickly browse through your photos and videos on your iPhone or iPad. A blue check mark will appear in the lower right corner of the photos or videos you select.
Step 4. Tap the "Share" icon in the lower left corner of the screen. The Share icon looks like a box with an arrow pointing through the top of it. A screen with a variety of options for your selected photos or videos appears.
Step 5. Tap "Hide" in the row of options along the bottom of the screen. The Hide icon features two boxes with a line running through them. That screen closes and your returned to the Select Items screen, where a menu flys up from the bottom of the screen informing you that moving forward with hiding these items will mean they are only visible in the Hidden photo album.
Step 6. Tap the red "Hide Photos" option in the menu to move forward with hiding these photos or videos. The photos or videos you chose to hide will be removed from the Moments screen, and will only be visible going forward in the photo album titled Hidden.
You can view your hidden photos and videos by opening the Photos app, tapping the "Albums" icon at the bottom of the Photos app, and then tapping to open the Hidden album. All of your hidden photos and videos will be visible in this folder. Note that if you aren't currently hiding any pictures or videos on your iPhone or iPad, the Hidden folder won't be visible.
You can unhide any photos and videos in the Hidden folder by tapping "Select" in the upper right corner of the screen, tapping to select the photos or videos you want to unhide, tapping the "Share" icon at the bottom of the screen, and then tapping the "Unhide" icon. The photos or videos will be returned to their previous location.
