How to Change Games install Location on M.2 SSD or Extended Storage on PS5 Console
To change the default installation location for PS4 and PS5 games on the PlayStation 5 console, you can follow these steps:
Install a supported M.2 SSD with a cooling structure to expand the storage of your PS5 console. You can refer to this video tutorial by PlayStation Support for detailed instructions.
Once you have installed the M.2 SSD, go to the home screen and select Settings - Storage - Installation Location to set it up. You can also move games and apps already installed on your console storage to the M.2 SSD by going to your games home and selecting Game Library. Highlight the data you want to move, press the Options button, and then select Move Games and Apps. Refer to this PlayStation support page for more information.
