How To Change Order Of Instagram Photos After Posting - Easy Solution | HTG
0Changing the order of Instagram photos in a carousel post after it’s already been published isn't officially supported by Instagram, but there is a workaround that can help you rearrange the sequence of your images using the delete and restore trick. This method is useful if you want to bring a specific photo to the front of your carousel without deleting the entire post and starting from scratch.
First, open the Instagram app and go to your profile by tapping the icon at the bottom right corner. Locate the post where you’ve uploaded multiple photos (a carousel post). Tap on the post, then tap the three dots in the top-right corner and select "Edit." Although Instagram allows you to edit the caption or tag people, it does not currently offer a drag-and-drop feature to rearrange the photo order within a carousel.
To move a photo to the beginning of the carousel, select and delete that photo by tapping the small trash icon that appears beneath it while editing. Don’t worry—this deletion is temporary and reversible. Once the photo is deleted, save your changes.
Now, return to your profile, tap the three-line (menu) icon at the top right, and go to "Your Activity." From there, choose "Recently Deleted." Find the photo you just removed, tap on the three dots in the upper-right corner of the screen, and select "Restore." Instagram will re-add that image to the post, but it will now appear at the front of the carousel since it was restored last.
You can repeat this process for other photos by deleting and restoring them in the desired order, allowing you to re-sequence your post indirectly. This trick isn’t perfect for large carousels but works well when you want to bring specific images forward.
