Changing the difficulty of your server has many advantages. You are able to make mobs easier or harder to fight, or even disappear forever.

You can change the server difficulty to either peaceful, easy, normal, or hard. There is a hardcore game-mode, which if you die, you cannot keep playing the same world.

You can change the difficulty of your server within the 'server settings' file. Find 'Difficulty' and change it to whichever you would like. Then save, and restart your server.
