How to Use Game Rules in Minecraft
Game rules allow you to alter the gameplay of your Minecraft server or single player world. They are essentially an extended set of configuration options beyond the regular server config options.
Game rules are extremely useful because they allow you to natively modify the function of the game in ways that would otherwise require a plugin or mod.
Game rules can be set with the /gamerule command. In this video we explain how to use this command as well as some popular game rules that can be set and where to find all of the available options.
Some examples of using game rules are: freezing the day/night cycle, stopping mobs from dropping items upon death, whether players keep their items when they die, preventing creepers and endermen from altering the map and more.
