How to Change View in Minecraft and Look at Yourself - 1st and 3rd Person
In this video I’ll be showing you how to change view in Minecraft. By changing perspective in Minecraft you can look at yourself and play in 1st or 3rd person. These perspectives are often used in content creation, however, some do prefer to play in with the 3rd person perspective.
You can change view in Minecraft Java Edition and Bedrock by pressing F5 on your keyboard. Additionally, if you are playing with controller or on console then up on the DPAD will change perspective. If pressing down on the DPAD doesn’t change your view in Minecraft then you can try pressing down the left stick. However, this is typically the sprint button.
Another way to look at yourself in Minecraft is to switch perspective through the settings. This can be done on the Bedrock versions of Minecraft. You can change perspective through the Video settings by changing the Camera Perspective option. When you select the camera perspective menu you have 3 choices. The first option is first person, which is the typical view used when playing Minecraft. Third person back will have you look at your character from behind, whereas using the third person front option will have you look at your character’s face.
If you’re playing Minecraft on a laptop or a 60% keyboard then you may need to press a combination of keys to use the F5 button. Typically, you will need to press the FN and F5 button on your keyboard. However, you may need to press multiple keys or different keys depending on your keyboard.
Alternatively, if you can’t change perspective in Minecraft then you can change the keybind. Although the default keybind is F5, you can change it to anything you want. This allows you to select a key that is easier to press on your keyboard, allowing you to change perspective easier.
