Don't like the color of the keyboard on your Android device? Don't worry. You can change it, but there are some caveats. You'll have to install a third-party keyboard to be able to change the color. In this example, I'll show you how to do that using Google's Gboard.

Now let's walk through the steps to change the color of the keyboard on your Android device.

Step 1. The default keyboard on most Android devices doesn't allow you to change the keyboard color, so you'll likely need to download another keyboard if you want to change the keyboard's color. I'll link to my video in the description about how to change the keyboard on your Android device. In this video I'll show you how to change your keyboard color using Google's Gboard.

Step 2. Swipe up on your Android device's home screen to display the Apps screen, and then tap "Settings." The Settings screen is displayed.

Step 3. Scroll down and tap "General Management," and then tap "Language and Input" on the General Management screen. The Language and Input screen is shown.

Step 4. Tap "On-screen Keyboard" to bring up a list of available keyboards on your Android device, and then tap the keyboard you're using that you want to change the color of. In this example I'll tap "Gboard." The Settings screen for that keyboard is displayed.

Step 5. Tap "Theme" in the list of options. The Theme screen is displayed, where you can switch the color of your keyboard or change to a different background.

Step 6. Tap the color you want to use for your keyboard. A preview of that keyboard color will be displayed. Tap "Apply" when you find the color you want to use for your keyboard. Now whenever the keyboard is displayed on your Android device it will be with your newly selected color.
