To configure Port restriction on #Switch in FastEthernet interfaces:

Step 1: First, add a Router, two PCs, and a Switch to the Packet Tracer workspace.

Step 2: Connect the PCs to any FastEthernet ports of the Switch.

Step 3: Connect the Switch to the Router's GigabitEthernet interface.

Step 4: Assign an IP address to the Gig0/0 interface of the router and open the port.

Step 5: Configure the TCP/IP settings of the PCs.

Step 6: Test the network connection by pinging the Router on PCs.

Step 7: One of the physical methods of preventing unauthorized access to your network is the #portsecurity feature. Thanks to this feature, only employees' computers can be connected to the Switch's interface in the network environment. When an unauthorized person plugs the network cable into that Switch, access to the network is automatically restricted.

Step 8: Now, open the Switch's CLI command prompt and go to the FastEthernet0/1 interface to which the PC0 device is connected.

Step 9: In this interface, execute the commands in the 4:55 time frame in order.

Step 10: Now add another PC to the workspace and configure its TCP/IP settings.

Step 11: Connect the newly added PC to the Fa0/1 interface and display the Switch's CLI prompt while you ping a computer on the network. Here you can see that the FastEthernet interface has gone from up to down.

Step 12: Thus, an unauthorized person will be prevented from physically accessing the network.

Step 13: To verify whether the port security feature on the switch is enabled, it is enough to run the show interface FastEthernet 0/1 command in enable mode and examine the port status.
