How to Configure Port Security on Cisco Switch in GNS3 | SYSNETTECH Solutions

Step 1: If you have not already installed GNS3, please refer to the following video or article:

Step 2: After installing it, add one L2 Switch to the workspace. If you do not have an L2 Switch, you can download it from the link below.

Step 3: You can add virtual machines that you have created on VMware or VirtualBox in GNS3 to your topology with Cloud. For a faster route, we recommend using VPCS. Now add 3 VPCS to your workspace.
Step 5: Enabling Port Security on Switches protects your company from physical attacks. For example, if only one employee in the accounting department connects to the Switch's Fa0/0 interface, you can prevent this port from being used by someone else with Port Security.
Step 6: Open the CLI command prompt of the #Switch and configure the GigabitEthernet interfaces first. Then, to enable Port Security in privileged mode, perform the following commands;
switchport port-security
switchport port-security mac-address sticky
switchport port-security maximum 1
switchport port-security violation shutdown
Step 7: After configuring Port Security, you will not be able to access the network when you connect the 3rd computer you added to the workspace to the Fa0/0 interface of the Switch. Because this port belongs only to PC1.
