Tutorial on how to create custom launcher in Unity Bar for applications in Ubuntu 12.04, using a program called Create Launcher
Create Launcher can be found in the Ubuntu Software under the For Purchase section. (Although its a free application)

Create Launcher can create shortcuts to applications, scripts, or web pages. It links into the Unity searcher and Application Lens searcher. You can also pass other arguments such as opening an app in Wine or Bumblebee (Nvidia Optimus)
