How To Delete Heat With Saunas In ONI: Spaced Out! Sandbox Showcase #23
25Welcome to Sandbox Showcase! In this series, I talk about various problems in Oxygen Not Included and how I've solved them with my own designs in previous streamed and non-streamed runs, by building them in Sandbox mode.
In this video, I talk about how Saunas can be used to delete heat! These recreation buildings take in Steam and output it as 80Β° C Water no matter what, which has some interesting applications on maps such as Oasisse where you may need to delete heat before you have access to Plastic for Steam Turbines. You can use a Thermo Aquatuner to heat up Steam to 275Β° C and get up to 34 kDTU/s of heat deletion per duplicant using the Sauna, and even more if you heat the Steam up on something like a Hydrogen Vent or Metal Volcano using Radiant Gas Pipes. This is much more efficient than the Ethanol condensation trick used in this video: https://youtu.be/pqjsEA0vQBo. You can even feed the Sauna super-chilled Steam using a Gas Valve and generate heat much more power-efficiently than you can using a Liquid Tepisider.
