Video Transcript:
By default, Google Chrome has a pop-up blocker enabled that prevents almost all pop-ups from being displayed. And while this generally ensures you'll have a much better web browsing experience, there may be some pop-ups you actually want to see, such as those on some of your favorite sites that use pop-ups to communicate news or offer great deals you're interested in. Thankfully, Google makes it easy to change the settings on your Chrome browser to either allow pop-ups for all sites you visit, or just for specific sites.

Now let's walk through the steps to disable the pop-up blocker in the Google Chrome desktop app to allow pop-ups to be displayed.

Step 1. Launch the Google Chrome app on your desktop computer, and then click the vertical ellipses at the top of the screen to open a menu.

Step 2. Click "Settings" in this menu. The Settings screen is displayed.

Step 3. Click "Security and Privacy" in the menu on the left side of the screen. Security and Privacy options will be shown on the right side of the screen.

Step 4. Navigate to the Security and Privacy section, and then click "Site Settings" in that section.

Step 5. Scroll down this screen and make sure the Additional Permissions section is expanded. Then, click "Pop-ups and Redirects" in this section. The Pop-ups and Redirects screen is shown.

Step 6. If you want to disable the pop-up blocker and allow pop-ups from all sites, navigate to the Default Behavior section, and then click to highlight the toggle next to "Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects." Alternatively, if you just want to disable the Google Chrome pop-up blocker and allow pop-ups from a single site, then leave this option set to not allow sites to send pop-ups or use redirects and move to the next step.

Step 7. Navigate down to Customized Behaviors if you want to allow pop-ups for a single, specific site. Click "Add" next to "Allowed to Send Pop-ups and Use Redirects." The Add a Site window pops up.

Step 8. Enter the URL associated with the specific site you want to allow pop-ups to be displayed on. In this example I'll add my website, www.maxdalton.how. Click "Add" after entering the site you want Google Chrome to allow pop-ups on. You'll be routed back to the Customized Behaviors section, where you'll see the site you added displayed in the the list of sites pop-ups are allowed on. Repeat Steps 7 and 8 to add more specific sites you want Google Chrome to allow pop-ups on.
