Always think about what part of the body is pushing on what object, and how they object is pushing back on the human body. When that object pushing back on the human body, what muscles does it cause the body to flex? What fatty tishue is squished, etc?
No matter what pose you are drawing, always think about what part of the body is pushing hardest on what object. Then think about how that object is pushing back on the body. This will help you add weight to your figures and a new kind of realness.
