In this beginners guide tutorial video I show you how to edit and change the gear a new fresh player gets when they spawn in on a DayZ Xbox, PlayStation or PC Community Server, so it makes it easier for new players to survive and figure out where they are. I have used a Nitrado Server as an example in parts of the video.
My file changes the loot a new player gets by giving them slightly better clothes, a can of drink, another piece of fruit, a compass, map, anti-biotics and a knife.
Using the new "spawnGearPresetFiles" entry in our servers cfggameplay.json we can create custom json files that will give our fresh spawned survivors better (or worse!) gear.
To make it easier for server owners in the above links you will find my "vanillaplus_loadout.json" file, so that you don't have to create a loadout file yourself, simply use mine and create the appropriate changes to your cfggameplay.json file.
In my Github and Mega repositories I have also included the Vanilla Default file, and also a step-by-step readme with easy to follow instructions.
I will be doing more videos showing you how to create more advanced Military Gear loadouts with weapons soon.
Thanks, Rob.
