How To Edit Gameplay Capture Videos From Xbox Series S In Sharefactory On PS4 Not On PC, For YouTube
With no editing app on Xbox Series S at the moment, you can record great quality footage to an external HD or in my case SSD and then you can transfer this footage to your pc or laptop and upload it unedited to youtube - but if you want to cut it down, or edit different clips together, or add a voice commentary or music, you’d need to edit that footage on your PC or laptop.
HOWEVER the PS4 has a really good video editing app, Sharefactory, and believe it or not, the video files are compatible, so you can cut and edit the tracks, edit in more tracks, add titles, add special effects, or add music and a commentary
The are a number of caveats to bear in mind. You are limited to only importing clips with a total combined length of less than 45 minutes if your Xbox Gameplay captures are at 720p, and you've got the even smaller limit of 18 minutes if you try and import clips captured at 1080p.
Finally, Share factory on PS4 only renders output video at 720p 30 fps, but if you haven't got access to a PC than can do video editing, this is still good enough for YouTube Content Creation.
Thanks, Rob.
