Step 1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone. Scroll down to the bottom of this screen and then tap "Apps." A list of all of the apps installed on your Apple device is displayed.

Step 2. Scroll down this list and then tap "Phone."

Step 3. Scroll down to the Screen Unknown Callers section, and then tap to place a check mark next to "Ask Reason for Calling." Going forward, any calls from unsaved numbers will be asked for more information before your iPhone rings.
