In this video I'll show you how to save a website in Safari as an app icon on your Apple iPhone or iPad. And to be clear, this is what this process looks like if you're using iOS 26 or newer. It may look different if you have an older version of iOS.

Video Transcript:
Step 1. Navigate to the website you want to save as an app icon in Safari on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 2. Tap the ellipses icon in your Safari address bar to open a menu, and then tap "Share" in this menu. Sharing options are displayed.

Step 3. Tap the "More" icon in this menu to see expanded options, and then tap "Add to Home Screen." The associated screen opens.

Step 4. Enter the name you want the app icon to be displayed with. Next, some websites will give you the option to open them as a web app. If you toggle this option on, this website will cache information to your device, which will make it possible for you to access this site's content when you're offline. Additionally, sites you set up to open as a web app will open in a full-screen view without the Safari address bar controls. Alternatively, if you toggle "Open as Web App" off, the app icon that gets created on your iPhone or iPad home screen will just open up this URL in Safari, and the site won't be accessible while offline.

Step 5. Tap "Add" when you're done. That app will immediately be added to your iPhone or iPad home screen. And again, if you chose to create a web app, it will open in a full-screen view in Safari without the address bar.
