In this video I'll show you how to create a poll in a group chat in the Messages app on your Apple iPhone or iPad. And to be clear, the ability to create a poll in a group chat is only available if you're device is running iOS 26 or newer. Also, the group chat must be a blue-bubble chat, which means that everyone must be using an Apple device.

Video Transcript:
Step 1. Open the Messages app, and then open the group chat you want to create a poll in. And again, this must be a blue-bubble chat, which means that everyone must be using an Apple device. If any one person included in this chat is using a non-Apple device, then you won't be able to create a poll.

Step 2. Tap the "Plus" icon next to where you type your message to open a menu, and then tap "Polls" in this menu. You'll see a window where you can input information for your poll.

Step 3. Enter the choices you want to include in your poll. You can include up to twelve choices for people to vote on. Finally, enter the message or comment you want to include along with the poll. This is a great way to give people context. Tap to send your poll to your group after you're done populating these fields.

You can navigate to this message at any time to see high-level voting results. If you want to see more detailed voting results, all you need to do is hold your finger against the poll to bring up a menu and then tap "Poll Details." You'll see a detailed list of who voted for what, and who hasn't voted yet.

It's important to note that what people vote for is visible to everyone in the group chat. This is the default, and polls can't be made anonymous.
