Step 1. Tap to open the Settings app, and then tap "Accessibility" in this menu.
Step 2. Scroll down to the General section, and then tap "Assistive Access."
Step 3. Tap "Set Up Assistive Access." The next screen lets you know that you'll need to select apps and customize options for the person who will be using Assistive Access on this iPhone or iPad.
Step 4. Tap "Continue." The next screen prompts you to verify the primary user this phone is associated with. If you don't see your name and Apple account ID, tap "Change Apple Account," and then log in with the Apple ID you want to use. Tap "Continue" when you're ready to move forward. The next screen prompts you to choose the appearance you want to use while Assistive Access is enabled on your iPhone or iPad. You can choose rows or a grid.
Step 5. Tap "Continue" after choosing your appearance option. The next screen prompts you to choose what apps you want to make available to anyone who uses your iPhone or iPad while it's in Assistive Access mode.
Step 6. Tap the "Plus" icon to add apps to the Selected Apps list, and then tap "Continue" after you've added all of the apps you want to be available through this list. The next screen lets you know how some iOS features work differently in Assistive Access.
Step 7. Review this information, and then tap "Continue." If you have a Face ID or a passcode set up on your iPhone or iPad, you'll be prompted to verify your identify.
Step 8. Verify your identify. The next screen prompts you to set an Assistive Access passcode.
Step 9. Enter what passcode you want to be used for someone to exit Assistive Access, and then re-enter that passcode on the next screen. The next screen will prompt you to set a recovery Apple account in case you forget your Assistive Access passcode.
Step 10. In this example I'll choose not to set a recovery Apple account and will tap "Not Now." The next screen lets you know that to exit Assistive Access, you'll need to triple-click the side button and then enter the Assistive Access passcode.
Step 11. Tap "Continue." The next screen lets you know that Assistive Access is ready to use. You can launch Assistive Access anytime on your iPhone or iPad by triple-clicking the side button.
