How to Enable TPM 2.0 & Secure Boot in Bios on Gigabyte Windows PC
To enable TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot in the BIOS on a Gigabyte motherboard for a Windows PC, particularly to ensure compatibility with Valorant or prepare for Windows 11, follow these detailed steps. These instructions apply to both AMD and Intel-based Gigabyte motherboards, with slight variations based on the processor type.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Access the BIOS/UEFI Settings
Shut Down Your PC: Completely power off your computer.
Enter BIOS: Turn on the PC and repeatedly press the Del key (or F2 on some Gigabyte models) during startup to enter the BIOS setup. The correct key is usually displayed on the boot screen.
Switch to Advanced Mode: Once in the BIOS, you may start in "Easy Mode." Press F2 to switch to Advanced Mode for full configuration options.
2. Enable TPM 2.0
The TPM 2.0 setting depends on whether you have an AMD or Intel processor.
For AMD Processors (fTPM):
Navigate to the Settings Tab: Use the arrow keys to go to Settings - Miscellaneous or Peripherals.
Locate AMD CPU fTPM: Find the option labeled AMD CPU fTPM or AMD fTPM Switch.
Enable fTPM: Select it and set it to Enabled.
Optional - Verify TPM: Navigate to Trusted Computing or Trusted Computing 2.0 in the same menu. If it shows “TPM 2.0 Device Found” with firmware version and vendor details (e.g., AMD), TPM is active.
Note: Some Gigabyte motherboards require enabling Security Device Support under Trusted Computing in addition to fTPM. If “No Security Device Found” appears, enable Security Device Support, save, and reboot.
