How to Factory Reset Android Phone Without Password (100% Works!)
A factory reset wipes all data and settings, returning the phone to its original state, and can be done even if you’ve forgotten the lock screen password. This is useful if your phone is frozen or locked, potentially during tasks like screen casting.
Warning: A factory reset erases all data (photos, apps, accounts). Back up any accessible data beforehand. If Factory Reset Protection (FRP) is enabled, you’ll need the original Google or Samsung account credentials after the reset.
Steps to Factory Reset Android Phone Without Password
Since you can’t access the phone’s Settings without the password, use Recovery Mode to perform the reset.
Power Off the Phone:
If the phone is responsive, power it off normally.
If frozen or stuck (e.g., during LG TV casting), perform a soft reset:
Hold Power (or Power + Volume Down) for 10–20 seconds until it restarts or shuts off.
If unresponsive, let the battery drain, then charge for 5–10 minutes.
Enter Recovery Mode:
Samsung Galaxy:
Press and hold Power (Side key) + Volume Up (add Bixby or Home for older models like Galaxy S7).
Release when the Samsung logo appears.
Google Pixel:
Hold Power + Volume Down until the bootloader appears, then use Volume Down to select Recovery Mode and press Power.
Xiaomi/Redmi:
Hold Power + Volume Up until the Mi logo or recovery menu appears.
OnePlus:
Hold Power + Volume Down until the recovery menu appears.
LG:
Hold Power + Volume Down (or Volume Up on some models) until the recovery menu appears.
Other Brands (Motorola, Sony, etc.):
Typically use Power + Volume Up or Power + Volume Down. Check your model’s manual or manufacturer’s website.
Navigate Recovery Mode:
Use Volume Up/Down buttons to move through the menu and Power to select.
Highlight Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
Confirm the Reset:
Select Wipe Data/Factory Reset and confirm (may require selecting Yes).
The phone will erase all data, including the lock screen password, and reboot to the setup screen.
Post-Reset Setup:
The phone will restart to the initial setup screen.
If FRP is enabled, you’ll need the Google or Samsung account credentials used before the reset.
Set up the phone as new or restore backed-up data.
