Welcome to Pinoy Tech Tips!
In this video, I will show you how to enable USB debugging on the Redmi Note 9 to make it all set for USB file transfers.

MIUI USB Debugging Mode
USB debugging mode is often required to push commands from a PC to a smartphone.
In Android devices, USB debugging is one of the hidden features in the Developer Options menu. This feature works by allowing an Android device to communicate with a computer running the Android Software Developer Kit to use advanced operations.
Enabling the USB debugging feature often helps when dealing with file transfer issues between an Android smartphone and a computer.
In case you're wondering how to access and turn on USB debugging mode on your Redmi Note 9 smartphone, this tutorial video should be able to help you out.
Before you begin, make sure that Developer Options is already unlocked and enabled on your phone. Otherwise, there’s no way for you to access the USB debugging feature.
You can refer to our separate tutorial video, if you haven't done so yet.
Once you've got everything ready, you may go ahead and start with these steps.

First, find then tap the Settings icon from the Home or Apps screen.
Doing so opens the main settings menu.
While on the settings menu, scroll to find Additional settings and then tap on it.
Another window opens with more settings and features you can use and manage.
Scroll down to the bottom of the list and then tap Developer Options.
If you don't see Developer Options in the list, then it means it isn't enabled on your phone yet. Thus, you will need to unlock it first.
While on the Developer Options menu, you will see a long list of options.
Just scroll down to the Debugging section.
Then, toggle to turn on the switch next to USB debugging.
Read the important warning and then, tap Accept to proceed.
Your phone's USB debugging mode is now enabled. That said, debug mode is already allowed when USB is connected.
To set the default USB configuration to file transfer instead of charging, scroll down until you'll see the Default USB configuration option.
Once you see it, tap on it to access and select File transfer from the given options.
With this setting, file transfer is already set whenever you connect the phone to a computer via USB cable.
You can also set it to other options such as USB tethering, MIDI or PTP.
And that’s how to enable USB debugging mode on the Redmi Note 9 smartphone. Should you wish to disable the feature, just go back to the debugging section and then toggle to turn off the USB debugging switch.
