For Windows PCs. Premiere Pro version 22.5. In summary: 1) make the clip shorter, and 2) when exporting, reduce the frame size and the frame rate. That's it.

In this video, I'll show the process when I turn a video into a GIF.

At first, the video is a bit too long, I think. One of the best ways to create a GIF with a small file size is to kill your darlings. Does it really have to be this long? Don't be shy to hack and slash away parts of it, or to limit the range when exporting.

When it's short and good enough, it’s time to export. Start by going to File, Export, and Media. Under the heading Format, select Animated GIF Under “Range”, I select to include the entire timeline. Under “Video”, I reduce the frame size. And the frame rate. Note that there’s no option to change the audio because there is no audio in a GIF file.

Finally, I’ll give it an excellent file name, and I’ll save it to my computer. Click on the Export button to execute. Double click the file to make sure everything looks OK.

Subscribe, please. Good luck with your GIFs.
