How to Feed the Horses and Chickens | The Secret of Shadow Ranch
In Nancy Drew: The Secret of Shadow Ranch, Nancy must feed the horses and the chickens. To learn what the oats and corn looks like, refer to the book in the den bookshelf: A City Slicker’s Guide to Ranch Horses (Book Two).
Back in the tack room, you can find the chicken chow in the right-most bin. (To the left of it is the pink cattle feed, which you will never need to use.) From left to right: oats, mixed pellets, corn.
Looking at the horse feeding chart on the wall, you can see how much rationing each horse gets.
You can check how many pounds each scoop in each bin is worth by scooping into the bucket and seeing how much is in it, then back up to “empty” the bucket.
1 scoop oats = 1 lb
1 scoop mixed pellets = 1.5 lbs
1 scoop corn 0.5 lbs
Here’s Bob’s portion: 2 scoops oats, 2 scoops corn, 1 scoop mixed pellets.
Clyde’s portion: 3 scoops oats, 1 scoop mixed pellets.
Ace’s portion: 1 scoop oats, 1 scoop corn, 2 scoops mixed pellets.
Chickens’ portion: 2 scoops chicken chow.
After measuring for each individual, back up to “keep” the bucket, and dump the feed into the appropriate bucket in front of the horse. You’ll know you did it correct when nothing happens as you enter the tack room.
